Afterschool Club

We established the Afterschool Club in 1996 and since then we have developed a reputation for quality child care. We now find that both term time and holiday care periods are busier than ever. We have a lot of young children from reception and years one and two this term, many of them are younger brothers and sisters of children who have used the club and hopefully they will stay with us until they move to senior school. We have said goodbye to five children who are moving on to secondary school, these children have been with us since reception class so have grown up with our staff team and we wish them well in their endeavours. The staff team has been working hard this year contributing to the planning for term time and holiday care.

We have set ourselves a high standard and offer good quality childcare, our staff are qualified to NVQ2 and NVQ3 in early years and playwork. Last year we were succesful in achiveing Gateshead Council's Quality Assurance Kite Mark 'A Journey to Quality', we aim to maintain this standard and work hard to maintain a good relationship with the schools that we work with. In November we were inspected by Ofsted and our report is available on the ofsted website or use the link below.

Breakfast Club

Stella School Breakfast Club

We have had a very good year at breakfast club. Stella school is not a very big school but it is a very good school and we get a lot of children using us in the morning before school starts. This year we have had a lot of children attending from Reception and year 1 which is really good as hopefully they will be with us throughout their years at school. In the morning although it is only a short period of time we do quite a lot of activities with the children once they have had their breakfast, from sport to arts and crafts. The relationship we have with the head teacher Miss White and her staff team has grown and we are very much considered as part of the school. All the teachers understand what we are about and this helps us to provide a good service to parents and to the school. This is our third year at the school and we hope that we will continue for many years to come. The links we have with reception and year one teachers is helping in other ways, OFSTED has introduce an Early Years Foundation Stage to After School Clubs and the teachers are able to give us support and this has been a positive experience both for ourselves and the school.
