Going Independant
Due to changes in the administration
of the Youth Club the Football Section
will become an independant body at
the end of the current season and will
no longer be part of Blaydon Youth
Club. After consultation with the
parents and players a new committee
and name will be adopted to take the
club forward next season. Blaydon
Youth Club would like to wish the new
club every success in the future.
Football Section.
Season 2010/11 over and we are happy
with the progress that has been made
with all of our teams. The under 12
team won their way to the League Cup
Final only to go down against Beamish
FC in a hard fought game.
The football section is growing year
on year. Last season we fielded 10
teams in total 8 in the Small Sided
League (7v7) under 7, under 8 and
three teams at under 9 and under 10
with 11 a side teams at the under 11
and under 12. With all of our teams
moving up next season we will be
expanding even further with the
introduction of two (9v9) sides at
under 11 and a new under 13 side.
Once again the Football section has
worked very hard raising funds to take
the under 10, 11 and 12 to play in
tournaments at Skegness and the under
9 at Blackpool, this is a great
opportunity for the young people to
experience a 3 day tournament and to
meet other players and teams from
around the country.
In June we confirmed our FA Charter
Standard status by completing the FA
Health Check. All of our coaches are
qualified through the FA and have
completed first aid and safeguarding
training.
Blaydon Races Football Festival
Once again we ran our regular football
tournament, this year we ran events
for under 7 and under 8 on Saturday
4th June, under 9 on Sunday 5th June
and under 10 on Sunday 12th June over
and as in previous years the event
was a complete success with 50
teams entered, that is over 500
young people taking part. For the
first time a Blaydon team won one of
the age groups with Blaydon Jets
winning the under 10 competition.
